We seek a qualified advertising sales representative to join our quickly growing team. This person’s responsibility will be to increase awareness of our sites in the local business community and to sell advertising campaigns to those contacts. Please keep in mind that Spicy Bear Media is a quickly growing business. We don’t have time for unmotivated salespeople, non-entrepreneurial spirits and people who can’t pave their own road. Job Description
Applicant will be outgoing, entrepreneurial minded, creative and highly motivated. This is an position with little direct oversight, but great potential earnings. We believe this is a strong fit for either an entry-level person or a salesperson with local experience. We will provide sales support and guidance, and the applicant will work with clients to create, develop, and execute digital display and interactive advertising campaigns across our network of locally based web properties.
Job Qualifications
The successful applicant will possess certain qualities that fall into two realms; sales experience, and a disposition to a particular type of work environment. This is a sales position first and foremost, but a collaborative position as well; in a small company each employee needs to cover a lot of ground.
- Prior sales experience suggested, but not required
- Strategic understanding of internet advertising; ability to explain the value and pitch to potential advertisers
- Familiarity with the business proprietors in Charlottesville
- Ability to develop a sales plan and to work within that plan to meet quarterly revenue goals
- Excellent written, verbal, and presentations skills

- Positive attitude, a keen understanding and interest in Internet marketing and advertising
- Committed to teamwork and helps fellow employees when needed
- Ability to work in an unstructured environment independently of management
