Charlottesville-Based Spicy Bear Media Launches cvilleStyle.com and Adds Zikki Munyao and Haidee Cline to its Team

Spicy Bear Media announces the official launch of cvilleStyle.com and the addition of two new team members, Zikki Munyao and Haidee Cline. cvilleStyle.com will serve the needs of the Charlottesville social scene, covering events, fashion, design and living on a local level. Joining a successful pair of websites, cVillain.com and cvilleMUSE.com, cvilleStyle.com will add a diverse topic set to an already engaging group of online media properties.

Spicy Bear Media informally launched cvilleStyle.com several weeks ago. The site recently underwent a design overhaul and formalized partnerships with some of Charlottesville’s most stylish local businesses.

The Spicy Bear network reaches over 50,000 visitors each month and engages more users than any other media publication in central Virginia. Spicy Bear Media empowers community members to participate equally in the discussion. As part of this mindset, cvilleStyle.com will seek the opinions of its readers to define and discuss the Charlottesville scene.

Haidee Cline will manage cvilleStyle.com as Editor and Zikki Munyao will manage online ad sales for the Spicy Bear Network as Vice President of Sales.

About Haidee Cline:
Raised in Dallas, Texas, Haidee made her way to Virginia in 1997 to attend the University of Richmond. After several years of working in media in Washington, DC, Haidee moved to Charlottesville in May 2005 to town to attend the Darden School of Business. After graduation, she married Matt Cline, a Charlottesville dentist, and the two decided to make Charlottesville their home. A slight obsession with shopping, decorating, beauty products and parties led her to join Spicy Bear as the editor of cvilleStyle. She balances writing for the blog with other entrepreneurial ventures while managing her family’s Texas-based company.

cvilleMUSE.com, an Online Destination Devoted to Charlottesville Music, Arts and Entertainment

Spicy Bear Media announces the launch of cvilleMUSE.com. This website features the Charlottesville and Central Virginia music, arts and entertainment scene. Consistent with the Spicy Bear brand, cvilleMUSE.com is a community-centric publication where users can participate equally in the creation of content.

cvilleMUSE.com will be the sister site to the successful cVillain.com. Since its launch ten months ago, cVillain.com now reaches over 17,000 unique visitors each month and has become Charlottesville’s leading online destination for interaction and discussion of locally relevant topics.

Coinciding with the launch of cvilleMUSE.com, Shaun Harvey joins Spicy Bear Media as the online music editor and contributing writer. As the music editor of cvilleMUSE.com, Shaun hopes to become an important and guiding voice within the vibrant Charlottesville music scene.

Prior to joining Spicy Bear Media, Shaun spent six years, from 2000 to 2006, as the Music Director and weekday morning host at Allegheny Mountain Radio, a network of three non-commercial radio stations based in western Virginia and eastern West Virginia. He logged over 6,000 hours of on-air time and helped establish the small-market station as a prominent player in the ever-growing Americana music scene.

In the spring of 2006, Shaun became a contributing writer for the online music website AmericanaRoots.com where he has written record reviews for such artists as Guy Clark, King Wilkie, The Avett Brothers, The Old Crow Medicine Show, and many others.

He currently lives in a little log cabin on the outskirts of Charlottesville with his fiancé Amanda. An aspiring poet with a fondness for the writings of Charles Bukowski and Jack Kerouac, Shaun also enjoys the pop and crackle of well-worn vinyl records as well as the music of Tom Waits, Wilco, Townes Van Zandt, the Pixies, and countless hundreds, if not thousands more.

Welcome to Spicy Bear Media

Spicy Bear Media is a media holding company that manages niche online properties. Our current flagship property, cVillain.com represents a community-centric publication where we empower users to participate equally in the creation of content.

Unlike traditional media companies, we don’t build media properties, we build communities, first and let that community define the media. Our business is continually evolving and we look forward to new property launches in 2008.

We have posted our first official, paid position. We are currently seeking an advertising salesperson to start immediately.

As always, feel free to contact us if you have any questions about our vision, media properties or anything else.
